Had a chance to spend a lovely afternoon at this science center, which is packed with interactive exhibits for the kids and alike.
There is a great emphasis on space exploration, due to the University's involvement in this field, but also ample other fields highlighted. I would have missed the downstairs interactive space had I not heard others talking about it, so it is also worth checking out.
The planetarium is an old-school fun experience, although I found that the Tucson Skies talk was a little general in nature, but that is probably to cater various audiences.
I had a bit of a mixed bag with customer service. People are super nice, but running special groups along paying customers creates an atmosphere where a full-fare ticket payer may not be valued. But, that's part of the modern running of sights like this.
Great laser light shows and the science center is great for people of all ages. Has learning games throughout the different exhibits for younger and older children. It is on the floor you enter into as well as a downstairs area that can be accessed by stairs or elevator. Highly recommend as a place to go and enjoy with family or by yourself to get away from the Tucson heat. Also quite a unique date spot.
We love coming here with kids. Lots of hand on activities. It’s small but we can basically walk here. ( I would NOT drive even one hour just to visit this museum.) Regular admission is $12 for adults and $8 for kids. It’s free if you are a member of literally any science museums in the US as long as they are part of the ASTC network. There is additional charge for shows.
Love the new aquarium exhibit in the basement. Again it’s small but it’s a great addition for what there is in Tucson!
Talk about a fun blend of the two least explored voids within our reach! The shark 🦈 exhibit that drives into the deep 🌊 paired with the reach for the stars 🌌.
I tried the human sundial too.
Planetariums have always been a visual wonder and this is no exception. Plus it's a great kids stop with all the rocks, science, and colors - mind blowing and anti screen time stimulation for the win 🤯
If I could give more stars I would! My husband and I went with friends it was great. The laser show was amazing and it will never get old espexially with the different shows they have. From the different exhibits they have to the games, this is a great place for all ages. Can't recommend it enough. Plus the staff is amazing.
I was skeptical but this was actually a great museum to take the kiddos! They especially loved the shark exhibit. Knowledgeable staff and the planetarium was amazing. You have to visit!
Attended a birthday party here! So cool!
Great place but ruined by being so expensive! Really a shame for the college to charge so much for families wanting to educate young children. $80 for 2 adults and 2 kids. This could be great for Tucson but is a disgrace.
